Brad Lewis / Boat Street Criterium.
Quick race report from this weekend’s Brad Lewis / Boat Street criterium.
Reported by Norrene Godfrey.
Heather and I had and awesome time; sunny, warm, I even took my leg warmers off; then we both proceeded to get our hinnies dropped. Oh well tomorrow is another day.
JZA of Race Oregon blog spot, called it – it was Rubicon VS Kenny Williams.

For the guys, the weather did a total 180 – dropped 10 degrees and started raining (hard at times). The guys, well except Matt, he likes the cold, did the customary Rubicon warm up for such rainy and cold weather - they all crammed in to one small Toyota car and waited for the start of the race.
Rubicon riders in attendance: Kirk Carlsen, Matt Brandt, Dan Harm, Brad Payne, Aaron Tuckerman, Richard Speer and Logan Hunn.
Announcer said go, they went . . .Dan was the first to go down on the second lap; broke a chain and he went up and over the handle bars; both he and the bike are okay.
5 more laps into the race, Rubicon attacks . . . Do I have to tell you who launched the first attack? Didn’t think so, yep you got it, Aaron, “ go blocks” Tuckerman. He and another guy were off the front for a while, then they where brought back, I think, not too sure right here as I was doing a mom check on Dan and this bike.

Again Tuckerman went off the front and he took some good guys with him this time, Russell Stevenson, Kenny Williams, a couple of BroadMark’s A riders, this for sure was a break that was going to stick. Gave Kirk some words of encouragement to get his little hinny up to the break as we need another sprinter in that break for sure. I know Tuckerman can take Kenny, I’ve seen those massive legs of Tuckerman that scream sprinter. Back in the field, Matt was doing one of the best jobs ever controlling the field, he was up in the 2nd and 3rd spot for at least 25 minutes controlling every attempt by anyone, including Tom Peterson of Slipstream and a Priority Health rider. Matt wouldn’t let anyone chase down Aaron and Kirk. BIG PROPS to MATT for that. Matt even found the time to go for a pack prime.
