LIVESTRONG Challenge Seattle -LRO was there!

We, that’s YOU and us, Land Rover-ORBEA raised $3,569.64 and sent Quinn Keogh and his father to the Seattle LIVESTRONG Challenge. Quinn and his father were two out of 2,513 who participated in the Seattle LIVESTRONG Challenge that raised over $1 million to fight cancer. Where does that $1 million go –for every dollar that is donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation –80 cents of it goes into grants, survivorship, research, community centers and more. 20 cents goes to the LAF corporate operations.
What did David and I do ?. . .you see there was this little hill that David and I where told to help the 70 and 100 milers climb . . . um, no one told us it was 15% grade and was over half a mile long –maybe it was good we didn’t know!
David and I spent a good 4 or 5 hours out there riding support for the 70 mile group. At rest stop 2, David and I took a short cut over to Newport Hills, where we spent the rest of our time pushing and cheering riders on up this MOUNTIAN! This was the least David and I could do for everyone who signed up to ride in honor of, in support of or in memory of someone close to them or themselves having to deal with cancer. Everyone made it up the climb, most walked, some rode, but everyone met the challenge head-on, some on light race bikes, some on cruisers and a couple hearty souls on single speeds –it was awesome to see.
